About Us
Our charity Greek Cat Rescue was founded in 2010 to help the street cats in Samos, Greece.
Greek Cat Rescue is an officially registered (non- profit) Greek organisation, based on the Aegean Island of Samos, Greece. We are also a registered charity in Holland and Germany.
Our aim is to improve the daily lives of many thousands of street cats and kittens that live on the island through four objectives:
* Sterilising of street cats, both male and female
* Wintertime feeding of street cats
* Helping street cats that need emergency help and medical care
* Arranging adoptions of suitable rescue cats from our shelter to new homes
Our work is funded and enabled entirely by donations and volunteer work - All our helpers are unpaid volunteers who work for our charity 365 days a year. In Samos we have helpers from various countries, as well as local Greek people that help us day to day. We also have volunteers who give time freely to come to Samos to help us.
We are lucky to have a dedicated cat shelter in Samos as our headquarters, and also a base to care for cats that have been rescued and need further help. Our shelter is open to visitors.
